'The Art of Coffee'
The pieces I created are inspired by fashion and coffee - contemporary meeting traditional - including the origins of Piccadilly in the high collar or 'Piccadil' tailored in the area.

"Incisive and primal"
The dreamlike atmosphere they give to their paintings and for building a universe made of mystery and irrationality.
As a child I loved romantic portraits like those by Millais and drawings from the Art Nouveau period, as a young adult I enjoyed the colourful abstract paintings of artists like Rothko and De Kooning and now I admire the illustrations of so many contemporary fashion artists.

Interviews
The Art of Procrastination with Marina Cutrale.
"I’ve experimented with painting, embroidery, clay, paper models, paper mâché, collage, film, anything to build whatever it is that I’m thinking."
"Drawing ink and acrylic, as well as collages, are my favourite tools. I like to see the materials in a painting. Here a work can be given a lot of expression.
Collages are also a part of my work, because they allow a lot of space and variations. Mixing different materials is also an exciting field for my work."
Sarah Plaumann
"I do a lot of research at first, my phone is always full of screenshots or images taken from websites, books, from the street...basically everywhere. I used to draw a lot using Promarkers and coloured pencils at the beginning of my career but I must admit, since I have had my iPad pro I became more of a digital artist."

"[I see] the entire ritual to be very therapeutic and I personally feel that the end result perfectly captures my vision and aesthetic."
The canonisation of beauty through drawing, with Hossein Borojeni.
"The idealised human body was the main inspiration of the Greek antique art and later the Italian Renaissance. Abandoned by the official art today, fashion has made the body its main concern and controversies."
Massimo Dutti X Montserrat Salvat
"Massimo Dutti pays special tribute to work done by hand through three unique and creative experiences, which will bring us closer to this manual work and giving new life to the brand's packaging, turning basic elements such as silk paper and boxes into exclusive craft creations."
Massimo Dutti
“I was awful. With fashion, every measurement has to be exact, and I was not very precise,” she says. But while her experience in pattern making was dismal, her skill and interest in the field’s subset—fashion illustration—blossomed."
Keep at it, Stina Persson
"Joanna, through her visual interpretation, has added an element of storytelling to our brand. She has captured the WILEW muse beautifully and brought her to life. This in itself has been inspiring."

Fashion carries a powerful charge of beauty. Olga Krivova.
"Try to be true to the traditional material effects because to give a sense of vivid texture."

I felt incredibly honoured and humbled. Winning the award among the many other talented illustrators meant a lot, and helped reinforce in me that I was on the right path.
