When did you first get into drawing?

I have been drawing since I was able to hold a pencil in my hand. I remember, when I was a kid I used to record all my favourite cartoons in order to freeze frames and redraw my favourite scenes.

Growing up, I kept going on pursuing my passion with the precise goal to turn it into a job.
Once I finished my studies, I attended the three-years course in Illustration and Multimedia Animation at the European Institute of Design in Rome.
That was my first real step to turn my passion into an actual job.

Why did you choose to make fashion part of your inspiration?

I am Italian, precisely from Rome.

I am super lucky to have been grown up in a country where fashion is excellence.

I've always been attracted by fashion.

One of the first toys my mother has gifted me was "Gira la moda": the game consisted of creating fashion designs by combining different pieces of clothing.

Plus, I grew up a few steps away from Piazza di Spagna where, each summer, the creations of the most amazing Italian designers walked down its magnificent stairs.

Watching those fashion shows I decided to become a fashion artist.

What is your particular working day as a creative?

Usually, I'm much more productive in the morning so I try to draw during the first hours of the day. I deal with the 'office' stuff at the end of the day. Three times per day (more or less) I spend some time curating my social networks and maintaining my website. Having a specific time for these activities is very useful for me in order to avoid being too distracted. In fact, other than a creative, I am also a mother and I am constantly looking to find the right family-work balance. Over the past year, with the pandemic and my nearly three-year-old daughter always at home, things got complicated and I had to find a way to optimise time as much as I could!

What tools do you use when creating your images?

I use mostly digital: I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 7, a Wacom Cintiq 13HD. Speaking of software I work with the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Fresco.

Lately, I re-discovered the beauty of watercolours so I am approaching this technique again.

Who are what has influenced you over the years as an artist?

One of my biggest sources of inspiration has been Italian fashion and designers like Valentino, Armani, Fendi, Missoni etc.
In addition to fashion, I've always been passionate about art, especially female artists like Frida Kahlo, Yayoi Kusama, Tamara de Lempicka

What advice do you have for younger artists looking to be part of this industry?

To find a mentor who supports you and helps you in making a good and strong portfolio.

Never give up and never underestimate yourself.

What are you drawing today? Music are you listening to? Books that your are reading?

At the moment I am working on a series of illustration which are focused on the Bulgari brand.

Maybe because I am feeling home-sick (it's been 1 year and a half that I don't come back to Italy) I am listening to mostly Italian music

I always love a good book and at the moment I am reading Killing Commendatore by my favourite writer Haruki Murakami. Lately, I am also reading several books about mindfulness and self-development.

Favourite artist/designer at the moment?

Pierpaolo Piccioli, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Phoebe Philo, Rei Kawakubo.
